A new general blackout left almost all of Venezuela in the dark

A new massive blackout occurred early this Friday in almost the entire territory of Venezuela. At least 20 of the country's 23 states reported power outages starting at 2:00 am (local time).

Users of social networks reported failures in the energy service, especially in the central and western states of the country.

Inhabitants of the capital, Caracas, as well as different areas of the states Zulia, Mérida, Carabobo, Miranda, Lara, Aragua, Apure, Anzoátegui, Vargas, Bolívar, Nueva Esparta, Barinas, Trujillo, Sucre, Táchira, Falcón, Yaracuy and Portuguesa denounced the irregularity.

For his part, the minister of the Nicolás Maduro dictatorship, Néstor Reverol, denounced that the new blackout occurred after an “attack on the National Electric System.”

“We have received a new attack on the SEN, specifically in the Guri, once again those who were merciless in 2019 attack the peace of the country”, stated the Chavista official during a contact with the State channel Venezuelan Television.

Massive blackouts have become a constant in Venezuela, where the national electrical system has suffered serious deterioration due to lack of maintenance and investment by the Nicolás Maduro regime.

Although massive power failures are less frequent, blackouts during several hours of the day are a part of daily life in Venezuelan homes. Despite having a lower incidence in the capital of the country, the rest of the territory is frequently affected by power outages and service cuts.

This new massive blackout, occurs less than a month after the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), which is financed with the resources of all Venezuelans, broadcast fragments of a shameful cartoon that was titled “Super Mustache”, in which they present the socialist dictator, Nicolás Maduro, as a “superhero” or a bad copy of Superman, which "fights US imperialism."

In the cartoon, which seems more like a kind of mockery of the dramatic reality that Venezuelans are going through inside and outside the country, they show a scene in which, in the middle of an operation in a doctor, the power goes out interrupting the surgery. It is at that moment when the very unoriginal character appears wearing a red suit, the characteristic color of Chavismo, along with a blue cape, and as if that were not enough, he has underwear outside the suit, just like the characters in American comics. In addition, he has a slender figure, very different from that of the obese Chavista dictator.

The slogan of the comic is: “With his iron hand”, a phrase that Maduro used to repeat when he took power in 2013 and with which he threatened anyone who underestimated his ability to lead the Executive after the death of Hugo Chavez. "I will rule with an iron hand", he sentenced to frighten and predict what would be the main characteristic of his iron dictatorship.
