Instyle.Confinement caught you in Milan.Did you live it as a kind of blessing, being able to spend more time with your family, or as a conviction?

Chiara Ferragni. At first it was hard because it had closed commitments, trips, etc....And we worried how I was going to affect my work. Then, the thing became so ugly that I only thought about how lucky.I was good to stop a second and enjoy my family 24 hours, 7 days a week for two and a half months, something I had not done before, when what I had was time in quality but not in quantity. There I understood that, of my whole life, what makes me the most happy is to be with my family.

In 24 hours, you and Fedez you managed.Did you think then it was lucky to be an influencer with so much reach?

I have always believed in the power to share. My career is based on that. Many people think that social networks are negative for mental health by how they can make you feel, because you show your life and yourself.I instead think they are revolutionary: they allow you to use the voice and audience to create something good that benefits other people.

You have used them this summer to teach your country. When did it occur to you?

Since the pandemic began, in Italy we had the highest data of Covid. We get scared. And we think that, with so many cases, the people who planned to visit us would also be frightened. As soon as he could, Fedez and I decided that it was time to travel to different corners. We are both Italians and we have one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It resulted. Many articles said: "The Ferragnez have been here".Interest increased and translated into reserves. We did something beautiful for us, such as our land, but at the same time we felt the urgency of supporting Italian tourism at such a peculiar moment.

During the pandemic you lost your grandmother...

Chiara Ferragni:

It was not for Coronavirus.Although the situation did not help and they could probably not be treated as they would have done in normal circumstances because there were other emergencies. But he was older and had been very sick since January. The worst part was the impossibility of making a funeral in conditions. At least I could say goodbye to the day before, before they confined us.

In a family of women (he has two younger sisters, Valentina and Francesca), how do you live the matriarchy?

My mother is the pillar;Without a doubt, the one that has the most personality.I am also strong and we have both gone far in different ways (Marina Di Guardo, the parent, is a writer with five Thrillers to her credit). If I have to highlight something about her is that since we were little, we were not going to believe that we could go as far as we wanted. He never made differences between us and that helped we grew up as allies, not as enemies.I know brothers who have no good relationship because their parents treated them as little. If I was able to do something, my sisters, at least, had to try.

Did you learn from feminism at home?

Yes.I consider myself a feminist in the sense that the woman has to have the freedom to do what she wants: if I want to dress sexy one day I do it for me, for feeling powerful, not because a man is going to look at me.I have been fortunate to grow next to a beautiful woman but, in addition, with hobbies.Travel, photography, fashion...My passions are both my mother's.Women are even more skilled than men because we are used to doing several things at once: work, be mothers, wives and friends. We must not despise.Find someone (more if she is a woman) who reaches young success is quite rare in Italy.Entrepreneurs are older, so I am in the duty to share my success to inspire other women.

The Blonde Salad, the blog you created with only 22 years, celebrates its eleventh anniversary at the end of October.Do you identify more with the chiara influencer or with the business woman?

I define myself as a digital entrepreneur.I don't like the word influencer. There is nothing wrong with her because I started as a blogger, but if someone describe me so now I think it would fall short because it does not represent me.I have raised an emporium around my name and it is important that people understand that my work is not just dressing and taking pictures. This is easy and anyone can do it and succeed.Few people understand the volume of work behind what I do.Surrounded, yes, of young and talented people.

Many actors say they forged their races based on ‘Noes’.Is it your case?

Absolutely. From my beginnings I was clear that I would only work with brands with which I really identified me.I do not speak only of luxury: there are also wonderful and affordable Street Style. Now I am getting involved in food and travel issues;I find it interesting to build a Life-style brand. It's nice that who follows my life knows what I do with her, whenever it is authentic.I could never promote something that I don't like.My followers would not understand and lose my credibility quickly.

From teenager you dream of looking like Paris Hilton, but they refer to you as Anne Wintour's successor. How does the fulfillment feel?

Wonderful, although it is not what I want to do.I do not want to work in a magazine or journalist.I remember the beginnings, when the publishing world was against bloggers because they thought we wanted to steal their work, which we were trying to be journalists without having training. It's not my case.My work has focused on creating my own platform, where to have a voice and, above all, total freedom.I decide who I work with and, at this point in my life, I am fortunate because I can choose.I do not wait for brands to come to offer me a collaboration. We think of projects and propose them. Most of the time it works, because they sign them look for that: proactive people that are involved.

As a digital visionary, what are your plans to stay on the crest of the wave?

I think, especially now, that the key is to be authentic and decide what you want to do with the power that networks give.In my case, leaving aside the fact of continuing to reinvent the business, it is about finding causes for which it can be a good voice.Lately I keep thinking about gratitude, returning. When you are as lucky as me, helping is a duty.I have done it with my country after Covid, encouraging women with positive messages. Before it was complicated, but now, thanks to social networks, if you have something valuable to say you can share it and create your audience.I do not come from the fashion world and I have built my career believing in myself.

On Instagram, you follow strong women like Oprah and Michelle Obama. Are your female icons?

¡Yes! Hace unos meses vi el documental de Michelle y me encantó.I love women who serve as an example to new generations. With Chiara Ferragni Unposted (Original Amazon) I intended that: to make the young people we all have ups and downs, who lidked with self -esteem, like everyone else, and that I have met people who did not believe in me.Right now I have that feeling of serenity and gratitude that makes me take a better life.Another woman I admire is baby saw.He has neither arms nor legs and became Paralympic athlete. He is the most positive person I have met in my life. And the best example that everyone has something to contribute.

As a curiosity: you also follow the Spanish actresses Ester Expósito and Úrsula Corberó.

I love elite and all the characters. The paper house is also one of my favorites.I met Ursula at an event in Madrid last summer. It's great.I connect immediately with the Spaniards.I feel like we were the same country. After Italy, Spain is my second favorite place in the world [this year, it changed its already established summer vacations in Ibiza for Sardinia].The Spaniards are the happiest. You have those good vibrations that I always look for in the people.

Leone, your son, is, with permission from Fedez, the protagonist of your networks. What has brought you good and bad maternity?

The best part is to love someone without limits. And be a love back, of course. The worst thing is that you are always scared, which is crazy.I was nothing anxious before and now I am.If I read something happened to a child, it happens to me the rest of the day.

Would you like to have more kids?

Yes.One or two.I have two small sisters and I know what it is to live that special relationship.I will have more children, sure.

At a time of your documentary, Fedez proposes to spend a sabbatical year.Still stands?

I do not need it.My breaks are short, one, two days maximum if I am very tired, since I recharge the batteries immediately. In addition, after the Covid I travel less and I can sleep with my son every night. On weekends we make family escapes. That's enough for me.

Do you consider yourself a superstitious person?

I guess something yes, as good Italian (laughs). Before going to bed, I pray for my family's health.I have photos of all and I am kissing one by one.each one of them.

A Town Council is worth gold.Do you give it to us?

Think of the person you want to be and go for it.Don't let anyone tell you that you can't be who you want.Always trust your instinct and no one else.
