Kim Kardashian and her Skims brand will dress the United States Olympians

Kim Kardashian announced on June 28 that her brand Skims will supply underwear and pajamas to the team that will represent the United States at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games, and also to the one that will compete at the Paralympics.

“I am honored to announce that Skims is designing the underwear, pajamas and loungewear for this year's athletes in Tokyo, and the same pieces will be available to the public in a limited collection ”, on the Skims website, Kardashian announced on her Twitter account.

“When I got the call to invite Skims to be a part of @TeamUSA, it completed a cycle that began with every moment I spent admiring the strength and energy of Olympians from the line band”, wrote the 40-year-old socialite. The news was replicated by fashion magazines, such as Vogue.

This will be the first time that a brand will be the official supplier of underwear for the team. Additionally, American athletes will continue to wear Ralph Lauren uniforms, as they have been since 2008.

Kardashian said she has a personal connection to the Olympics, growing up watching her then-stepfather, Caitlyn Jenner, compete.

“I traveled with my stepfather and family to different cities for the Olympic trials, the Olympics, and Caitlyn Jenner's track and field meets, at every stop I bought an Olympic T-shirt as a souvenir,” Kardashian recalled.

Since I was 10 years old, I've heard every detail of the Olympics from my stepfather. Watching the athletes compete, I could understand the dedication and honor of being a part of what the Games are all about.”

The model list for the ad campaign features soccer star Alex Morgan, basketball player A'ja Wilson, Paralympian Scout Bassett, swimmer Haley Anderson and track and field athlete Dalilah Muhammad.

There are bralettes, boxer shorts, tank tops, briefs, T-shirts, socks, leggings and more, all emblazoned with the American flag and Olympic rings. (AND)
