The Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Territorial Planning, through the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia, has tendered for 2,879,160 euros the works to improve the building for the commercialization of fishing and the adaptation of fishing esplanades in the port of Ayamonte.

The Minister of Public Works, Infrastructure and Territorial Planning, Marifrán Carazo, who recalled that in the port of Ayamonte an important port-city integration project was completed this year with the redevelopment of the banks of the Guadiana river on the front urban with an investment of 3.6 million euros, he stressed that this new tender is intended to improve "degraded and obsolete spaces, modernizing their infrastructures for a better connection between the port and the city."

This action, 80 percent financed by Feder funds, has the objective of improving the fish market building and adapting the fishing esplanades through the rearrangement and delimitation of the fishing area, generating maneuvering and unloading areas for vehicles land transport of fishing, and requalifying the spaces for pedestrian flows, making the fishing area more accessible to citizens. The services that the fishing port is equipped with will be expanded and the relationship with the urban environment will be improved through the redevelopment and rearrangement of spaces to favor the implementation of activities in the port.

In recent decades, port areas have become one more part of the urban landscape of our cities, beyond being understood as an infrastructure or productive and industrial space, being valued as an economic, social and cultural claim. For this reason, the works consist of the construction of a building to replace the existing warehouse, in a single volume that expands and improves in an inclusive way the building for the captaincy and administrative spaces at the service of the commercialization of fishing. For this, it is necessary to reorganize and urbanize the existing urban infrastructures and define an area dedicated to the fishing sector, as well as the adaptation of the environment for adequate functional development in a way that favors the reconciliation between fishing activity and urban use.

The planning will improve and expand the capacity of the current space destined for the commercialization of fish in a direction perpendicular to the Port of Portugal, which will allow the generation of a new and extensive urban space that will in turn organize the transfer of fish cargo and vehicle traffic. The building will thus consolidate the access to the port, unifying and assuming the existing buildings with architectural and urban quality.

The improvement of the proposed building will have all the necessary dependencies for its activity, in addition to incorporating the new demands for tourist and cultural promotion, such as the exhibition open to external visitors or tourists. All the rooms for marketing are located on the ground floor: loading and preparation area, conservation chamber, specific space for packaging storage and box washing tunnel, auction room with adequate size, changing rooms and toilets, cleaning warehouse and loading dock. A space for direct sales to the public will be included on this same floor for the promotion of fish from the market and offices of the marketer.

There will be a tour for the external visitor interested in visualizing and following the entire process of the fish market, from the landing of the fish, the weighing, the preparation process for its auction, the auction and the exit without the visits tourist interfere in the development of the activity. This will be possible through tours of external visits both on the ground floor and on the upper floor with direct viewing through glass panels. The specific activity of the market consists of its own internal tours, independent from those of external visitors. The Captaincy offices will maintain their use on the top floor of the building.

< p>For the building, a unitary envelope has been designed as a lattice of biondas that, in addition to consolidating the image of the fishing port, will allow solar control of the building. In addition, the upper floor gallery-viewpoints may be open and naturally ventilated without the need to condition the environment. The gabled shape of the central space destined for the main rooms of the commercialization space will allow the arrangement of photovoltaic solar collection elements for the generation of clean energy and a good architectural integration.

The incorporation of this system will manage to provide service to the facilities and even to the exterior lighting of the fishing commercialization esplanade, thus complying with the project following the line of the green seal implemented by the Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Territorial Planning in all your projects. In addition, in this line, light points will be incorporated using LED and/or autonomous technology, increasing the lighting of the space with low energy consumption and the use of renewable energies will be promoted with the installation of photovoltaic solar panels in contribution and optimization of energy demand. necessary for the development of industrial activity for the commercialization of fishing.

The integration of the tourist use in the routes of the building will promote a situation of continuity to the promenade along the quay in its south-north direction. On the top floor of the building, the new viewpoint gallery areas will allow a shared view of the Guadiana River and Portugal to be established between the exhibition space of the fishing commercialization building and the public area.
