Does it matter with clothes or without clothes? | Cuba Yes

“It's good with sheets, it doesn't matter without sheets”, Benedetti assured in his well-known poem Ustedes y nosotros. Now the debate is emerging about whether sleeping with clothes on is good or without clothes, it doesn't matter.Does it matter with clothes or without clothes? | Cuba Si Does it matter with clothes or without clothes? | Cuba Si

Until very recently, most experts had ruled on the advisability of sleeping without clothes following the custom of Marilyn Monroe.

When asked by a reporter what she used to wear to sleep, the acclaimed actress replied that just a few drops of Chanel No. 5

And there seem to be quite a few who imitate her style, varying, of course, the brand of perfume. At least, the National Sleep Foundation of the United States ensures, according to an international study, that one in three adults is used to sleeping naked.

There are many reasons that support this fresh decision, fresh because it combats the heat, taking into account its health benefits:

-Allows the body to cool down faster and maintain the ideal temperature, which must drop by about half a degree to promote vital regeneration functions. In case this does not happen, the brain activates alarms that prevent a good rest. the body can better regulate the level of cortisol, known as the stress hormone.

-Those who sleep without clothes in a room with a cool temperature, not cold, have stable blood glucose levels and more sensitivity to insulin, while these conditions help them burn excess calories by forcing the body to generate heat.

-In a Relationship, it helps love life because skin-to-skin contact sends impulses to the brain that trigger the release of oxytocin, which, in turn, has a protective effect on the heart. Consequently, it lowers blood pressure, stimulates the immune system, improves intestinal motility, and reduces anxiety.

-Protects sperm quality. Men who increase the temperature of their testicles, either from exposure to heat at work or from wearing tight underwear, have poorer semen quality compared to men whose testicles are colder.

-Benefits the skin because it allows the whole body to breathe, including areas that usually remain covered. Thus, it avoids diseases such as those caused by fungi.

-It contributes to the circulation of blood because it relieves the pressures that clothes make, particularly elastic ones and the like.

- Helps self-esteem and self-confidence by allowing us to get used to seeing our body as it is every night.

Why you should never sleep naked is the topic he addresses and among his arguments, one stands out that makes one frown with distaste: if he sleeps without clothes, the flatulence that can be expelled during the night could spray the companion with “a small amount of fecal matter.” Uff, disgusting!!!

That is why the popular doctor advised sleeping at least with underwear, which would serve as a barrier to such unfortunate “dew”.

In reality, there are not many studies or scientific pronouncements on the matter. But an investigation published in the scientific journal British Medical Journal at the beginning of this century ensures that flatulence can cause contamination when you are without clothes that contain its dispersion, but none of the bacteria found as a result of this contamination was dangerous because it is about those that are usually found in our intestines and also on our skin.

The truth is that everyone will choose to sleep as they prefer. But what is extremely advisable is to go to bed, dressed or naked, knowing that a day ends when we did the best for ourselves and for others.
