Shootout between the Police and a criminal gang in Gonzalez Catán: two minors died

After stealing a car and fleeing, a criminal gang of five teenagers clashed in a shootout with the Police in the Buenos Aires town of González Catán, La Matanza district. In the exchange of bullets, which took place last night, two minors died.

The robbery occurred at the door of a retiree's house, at the address at 7400 Víctor Martínez street, between Barrientos and Bariloche. A 66-year-old neighbor was in his black Fiat Siena when the five thugs showed up to rob him. They rushed forward and pointed a firearm at him. After an arduous chase, the shooting began.

The old man called 911 and the police began a lockdown operation in the area. The members of the Southern Patrol Command managed to intercept the car with the five occupants of the group in Conde and Luján, where the first armed confrontation took place.

“The criminals resisted, fled and fired shots at the police personnel,” explained a source consulted by Primer Plano Online. Judicial sources say that the Fiat Siena had 13 bullet wounds.

According to police sources, the chase began after 10 p.m. and ended in a shootout at the intersection of Báez and Senguel, when the thieves' car collided with a patrol car. The uniformed men cornered the gang made up of young people aged 14, 16 and 17: two fell dead and the other three were arrested.
