They create a mask for running after athletes wore underwear on their faces

Hong Kong sportswear company T8 has created a mask with a special fabric for those who want to wear it while exercising. The origin of this mask is somewhat unique, as reported by the South China Morning Post.

T8 is specialized in light and anti-chafing underwear and shorts for runners. The material absorbs sweat and reduces chafing. When Hong Kong made it mandatory to wear masks, many runners made their own out of T8 running underwear.

"Clearly, it's a fabric that works, but we don't want people putting underwear on their faces," said John Ellis, ultrarunner and co-founder of T8.

The mask is sold in packages of two for 11 euros. It is light and does not restrict breathing. "This is not a solution for all situations, nor is it a replacement for social distancing and good hygiene, but we think it is a good solution for solo running and other situations with few people and where additional breathability is valued." says Ellis in the South China Morning Post.

As well indicated on the T8 website, among the warnings of this mask is that "it has not been tested or certified as personal protective equipment or according to other medical standards. It can be used under a medical mask if so required by local regulations. Not recommended for use in crowded areas."
