There are more than 5 thousand jackets in the folk dance festival for the campaign Coats that hug

The mayor of Chihuahua, Marco Bonilla Mendoza, and the president of the Municipal DIF, Karina Olivas, led a folk dance festival that took place in the Plaza de Armas, in order to invite citizens to donate and be part of the winter campaign " Coats that hug”, where more than 5 thousand jackets were added.

The folk dance was in charge of the teacher Carlos Rodríguez, who was the link for the participation of 10 dance companies belonging to the municipality and the state of Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Hidalgo and Querétaro.

The Municipal President thanked the citizens for their participation in this campaign; He also pointed out that they will continue working to bring spaces that promote local culture.

The President of the Municipal DIF recognized the solidarity and empathy of the citizens and the dancers of this show, for adding more participated in this cause, which will allow girls and boys from vulnerable areas to take a coat in this winter season. In addition, she invited Chihuahuans to join and donate a jacket.

For his part, director of the State DIF, Gabriel Eguiarte, pointed out the importance of working together in actions to benefit those who have less; for which he thanked the donation that the Municipal Government will give to the state campaign "Together without cold", to help the communities of the Sierra Tarahumara.

At the event, the director of the Department of Human Development and Education, Mónica Herrera, made the symbolic delivery of 2,500 coats that were collected in more than 24 schools; as well as Salvador Domínguez, representative of Uniformes Chava, made a donation of 2 thousand jackets.

It will be until November 26, the deadline to receive new jackets or in good condition and previously sanitized, as well as thermal clothing and new socks, for the girls and boys of the municipality; in the collection centers Tricentenario Gymnasium, Municipal DIF and the Directorate of Human Development and Education.
