With the impact of the pandemic on the pockets of Colombians, many turned to savings to sustain themselves financially during this long period of time.

According to a Picodi.com survey, 87% of Colombians used as a way of saving, buying discounted products.

The survey revealed that the products they prefer to buy on sale “often” are: food – market-, clothing and footwear, and Household appliances.

In addition, they stated that "sometimes" they buy pet supplies, medicines, food delivery, underwear, travel and leisure, cosmetics, books, children's items, and sporting goods at a discount.

They also pointed out that they “rarely” buy items for home decoration, jewelry and cars at sales.

Likewise, it was learned that there are many products for which Colombians prefer to wait until they are on sale and not buy them at the regular price, such as: household appliances (86%), clothing and footwear (85%), related services with holidays and leisure (85%), food (82%) and cosmetics and perfumes (81%).

However, there are product categories that consumers do not want to wait for on sale and buy them without any discount. Among them are medicines (43%), underwear (32%), books (30%), food at home (28%) and pet supplies (25%).
