One of the four authors of a robbery with violence in a home in A Coruña arrested while it was inhabited

The National Police arrested a 34-year-old man on Monday after being identified as one of the four perpetrators of a robbery with violence committed in a house in A Coruña while its residents, who were sprayed with pepper spray, were inside.

According to the Police themselves, it happened on June 27, 2021 at around 6:30 in the morning at an address located on Avenida de Arteixo. A couple of friends were listening to music inside when the power suddenly went out and they were left in darkness and silence.

At first, they thought it might have been a roommate who, being annoyed by the volume of the music, had cut off the electricity.

However, a few seconds later someone knocked on the door of the room where they were. The callers were four unknown men and, without saying a word, one of them sprayed their faces with pepper spray.

Due to the temporary blindness produced by this product, neither of them could do anything while the four individuals searched the room. Thus, according to the National Police, several mobile phones, clothing and 400 euros in cash were taken from the room.

Once these men left the home, the two boys were able to verify that they had searched the rest of the house and had also taken the television. Apparently, they would have entered the house through one of the windows, since the blind was broken.

After this robbery, one of the victims had to be treated in a medical center for the injuries caused to her eyes with the pepper spray.

The investigations carried out for months by the Specialized and Violent Crime Unit of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade led to the arrest, last Monday, of one of these men, who is also attributed a robbery with force that occurred in a the city last November. On that occasion, he took two laptops.

The 34-year-old author had extensive police records and was brought to justice on Tuesday, after which he was remanded in custody.
